Over the next few weeks, I'll be posting the results of the survey, along with articles addressing some of the questions and comments raised by respondents. I noticed several common themes in the comments: Respondents to the survey represent a wide spectrum of writing talents, with 54 percent writing or publishing nonfiction, 46 percent writing fiction, 21 percent writing children’s or young adult books and 8 percent writing memoir. (Some authors write in more than one genre.) Fifty-two percent of the respondents to the book promotion survey are independently or self-published authors, while 25 percent are authors published by a traditional publishing house, 10 percent are aspiring authors and 13 percent are publishers or marketing experts. Stay tuned for more survey results!
Thank you to everyone who participated in my annual book promotion survey, and congratulations to Monica Strobel, author of The Compliment Quotient, who won the drawing for a free Savvy Book Marketer Guide.
